Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, on Thursday criticized the United States for acting like a “bully.” He pointed out that while the US has always benefited from free trade, it is now using tariffs as a way to push for higher prices from other countries. Speaking at an event hosted by the independent think tank Chintan Research Foundation, he said, “China will stand firmly by India,” and noted that both nations are key drivers of economic growth in Asia.

He added, “The US has long benefited from free trade, but now uses tariffs as bargaining tools to ask for too much. The US has imposed tariffs as high as 50% on India and has even threatened to raise them further. China strongly opposes this. If we remain silent, it only makes the bully stronger. China will stand with India to protect the global trading system.”He explained that the international system is changing a lot, so China and India, as major developing countries, should work together. “Our friendship helps Asia.

He is pushing the US away from the global economy because these tariffs are making US industries less competitive," Sachs said during an exclusive interview with India Today.
